  • When we fled Southern CAlifornia, bicycle commutes were clearly not safe. Motorists (especially the immigrants) ignored the motor vehicle laws anyway. It was not safe to commute in South LA because of the crime and uncontrolled traffic problems.

  • When populations get out of control Nature DOES act. As part of the cycle of the habitat, something will reduce the population- fleas, disease or ferrits. Right now it is the disease via the flea.
